She is the leader of a funk and soul band, named for her father, called T.C. Soul Playas. GwenYvette launched her solo career in 2015 and in February 2016, released her debut single, “So In Love,” which has been well received by listeners.

While GwenYvette has experienced success in the spotlight, her path to becoming a professional singer was not easy. A survivor of depression in years past, the divorcee endured personal heartbreak and also faced constant rejection from industry executives who said she did not have “the look” for showbiz. However, those experiences would fuel her determination to prove her doubters wrong. They would also serve as inspiration for much of the content in her music. GwenYvette’s fortitude, faith and love for music empowered her to chart her own course as an independent artist and inspire others along the way.
