Mariam Sawires, Egyptian born in Australia into a worldly, nomadic family of musicians artists originating in desert sands to urban landscapes worldwide. Mariam’s youth was inspired by the sweet lyrical high-pitched melodies of traditional arabic songs, the rhythms created from the clay Darbuka of her father alongside the Soul, Jazz and RnB of Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, George Benson and others of the like.  Bringing her flavour of Arabic/Northern African infused Jazz/ NuSoul to Japan, Germany, Denmark, Egypt, Uganda, France, Colombia, USA and her

hometown of Sydney, Australia, her arabic and enchanting expressive voice and melisma featured on the video series of ‘Artbreaks;’  creative humanitarian videos connected to UNICEF in Australia. Her voice also won the approval of Yoko Ono to sing John Lennon’s “Real Love” for the Australian and Scandinavian National TV series “The Biggest Loser. Living the last 5 years in Japan, Colombia, Australia whilst travelling each continent of the globe freely, Mariam is now currently settled and based in Germany and has begun to share her music throughout Europe.
